What Can You Expect from a Fun Train Class?
At Fun Train, we believe in the power of play as a fundamental part of early childhood development. Our classes are not just about fun; they are carefully designed to support your baby’s cognitive, emotional, and social growth during those crucial early years.
A Focus on Development
The first few years of a child’s life are critical, particularly from the age of one, when rapid development occurs. Simple activities like playing, reading, and singing are essential as they stimulate cognitive growth, enhance social skills, and support language development. Our interactive music classes are crafted to provide these benefits, giving your child the best start in life.
The Importance of Bonding and Positive Reinforcement
One of the core elements of our classes is the emphasis on bonding between parents, carers, and their babies. A strong bond fosters a sense of security, encouraging children to explore their environment and engage in learning. At Fun Train, we create a special time for you to connect with your child, away from distractions, focusing on the joy of discovery together.
Positive reinforcement plays a key role in our approach. Smiles, praise, and gentle encouragement not only build self-esteem but also promote positive behaviour and give children the confidence to take their first steps toward independence. We encourage parents and carers to use these techniques during our classes, helping to create a nurturing environment that supports overall development.
Why Fun Train is Different
While many toddler groups focus on socialising for parents, Fun Train is unique because our primary focus is on the child’s experience and development. This special time with your child is about catching them in moments of success, reinforcing positive actions, and fostering a love for learning that will benefit them throughout their lives.
Can a Weekly Class Really Make a Difference?
Absolutely! A weekly class at Fun Train offers consistent opportunities for your child to grow and develop in a supportive and fun environment. Drawing from personal experience, I know the importance of positive reinforcement in encouraging good behaviour. My journey began in 1998 when I worked with the Community Nursing Service’s Challenging Behaviour team. Through their guidance and the principles of the 1-2-3 Magic program (Phelan, T., 1995), I learned the value of praise in shaping behaviour. While a weekly class isn’t a substitute for intensive support, it’s a powerful tool in laying the groundwork for your child’s future success.
At Fun Train, we’ve adapted these principles to create a simple, effective, and enjoyable experience for both you and your child. Together, we’ll help your child build the skills they need to thrive, all while having fun along the way.
We offer a free, no-obligation trial class and have some spaces coming up in September in our 10.15 classes in Biddenden, Staplehurst and Headcorn. You can email us on info@funtrain.co.uk to book your place.
