Background
Funtrain music classes started in 2001. The founder, Peggy Heron worked alongside a behaviour specialist to help her young daughter overcome some extremely challenging behaviour issues associated with her learning disability.
Peggy saw that the behaviour methods and techniques used to help her daughter worked with all young children. Using all the advice and knowledge gained from working alongside experts, Funtrain classes were created.
“Children aren’t born to know how to listen, to take instructions or wait their turn. By gentle coaxing and encouragement, we soon have children amazing their parents with their ability to take part in the classes so well. Parents and carers play a huge part in making the classes successful by praising and reinforcing when the children do well. We ensure that all our class leaders have a real understanding of how to get the best out of every child who attends.”
“Over the 20 years we have been running we have seen many baby and toddler classes come and go – we are opening more classes to meet the demand for places and are delighted that it is mostly word of mouth that has kept us so busy. We are a small, selective team and have a real interest in early years development and want you and your children to have a positive time and take away happy memories.”
